FCT FA chair seeks global alliances at World Football Summit

The Chairman of Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT FA), Adam Mouktar Mohammed, participated in the prestigious World Football Summit 2026 held in Madrid, Spain. His attendance was aimed at forging international alliances and introducing novel concepts to the Nigerian football scene. The summit served as a crucial gathering for football federations, clubs, leagues, investors, tech firms, commercial partners, and decision-makers influencing the sport's future.

Mohammed highlighted that this meeting, beyond being a networking event, was instrumental in bridging the gap between Nigeria's football and successful international models in governance, youth development, infrastructure, technology, investment, and commercialization. He expressed Nigeria's immense potential, fueled by its talent pool, population, passion, and market.

To harness this potential, Mohammed stressed on strengthening structures, investment, and pathways that would transform this potential into lasting accomplishments. Discussions during the Madrid summit would primarily focus on international cooperation in grassroots football, elite talent development, coach education, sports infrastructure, technology, data, club growth, sponsorship, and investment.

Mohammed underscored the importance of establishing robust pipelines for identifying and developing young Nigerian talents, connecting them to global opportunities, and ensuring that local clubs, academies, and communities benefit economically from such talents.
