Dolphins rule out edge rusher Chop Robinson with a concussion for Week 2 at San Francisco

The Miami Dolphins have ruled out edge rusher Chop Robinson for their Week 2 game against San Francisco due to a concussion. Coach Jeff Hafley informed reporters that Robinson suffered the injury during practice this week and was not present at practice on Thursday. The Dolphins' defense has been struggling to stop the run and generate pressure against quarterback Kirk Cousins, as seen in their Week 1 loss to the Raiders, where Cousins completed 21 of 30 passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns.

Robinson, a third-year linebacker, had a strong preseason but only made one tackle and struggled against the run in the opener. He has suffered two concussions in the past season. The team hopes for improvement from Robinson, who has the fifth-year option on his rookie deal. If he is not up to par, the Dolphins may rely on veterans Josh Uche and second-year defensive tackle Zeek Biggers, as well as rookie Malik Herring and practice squad veteran Clelin Ferrell.
