Cuisines from 12 Countries Come Together for the First Time in Bogota

The World in the Heart of Bogota festival, a unique event in September, brings together 12 countries to showcase their special dishes and cultures. The gathering will occur at the iconic El Country Park in the Colombian capital, uniting local and international attendees. This inaugural event aims to strengthen ties, boost local economy, and promote multicultural exchange.

Delegates from Costa Rica, Peru, Guatemala, the Philippines, Ecuador, Turkey, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Palestine, Uruguay, El Salvador, and Lebanon, along with the United Nations, will present signature dishes. Attendees can savor a variety of flavors, including Honduran baleadas and Peruvian mixed Chalaco ceviche. The festival, initiated by Bogota Mayor’s Office, also focuses on food security, donating 3% of sales profits to the Mission Nutrition Bogota program.

Bogota's Mayor, Carolina Deik, emphasized the city's commitment to openness and cultural appreciation, citing a recent survey showing 68.8% of residents feel proud due to the city's cultural offerings and gastronomy. The festival, promoted by various offices and organizations, seeks to open opportunities for local entrepreneurs and businesses while fostering multicultural dialogue.
