Counsellor Lutterodt’s free prostate screening initiative draws over 160 men in Accra

More than 160 men participated in a free prostate cancer screening event in Accra during September, which has been designated as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. The initiative was organized by Counsellor Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt to encourage men to prioritize regular screening and early detection of prostate-related conditions.

Counsellor Lutterodt emphasized the importance of awareness creation, education, treatment support, and counselling for men across the country. The screening, which was held in an open space provided by the Multimedia Group, was one of the largest organized in an open space since the initiative began last October. The initiative aims to continue annually, with screenings planned for September and other clinics throughout the year.

Over 160 men were screened on the day of the event, with organizers anticipating the number to reach approximately 250 by the end of the screening period. Counsellor Lutterodt urged men to overcome their fears surrounding prostate screening, stating that it is not painful and that early detection can save lives.
