Coronation Street and Waiting For God star Stephanie Cole dies aged 84

Stephanie Cole, the acclaimed actress known for her roles in Coronation Street, Waiting For God, and Open All Hours, has passed away at the age of 84. Cole, who received an OBE for her services to drama, mental health charities, and the elderly, lived with Alzheimer's disease in her later years. Her notable performances included Sylvia Goodwin on Coronation Street and Dr Beatrice Mason in the prisoner-of-war drama Tenko.

Cole's family expressed their sadness over her passing, requesting privacy during this difficult time. Michelle Dyson of Alzheimer's Society remembered Cole as a remarkable talent who brought joy to millions through her decades-long career in theatre and television.
