Cardiff hotels sell out as Joshua, Fury date emerges

Cardiff hotels have rapidly sold out due to anticipations surrounding a potential bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, with December 12 emerging as a possible date for the highly anticipated clash. The Welsh capital has been identified as the preferred location for the fight between the two British heavyweight champions, with the Principality Stadium standing out as the favored option over New York’s Madison Square Garden, as boxing enthusiasts rush to book accommodations ahead of an official confirmation.

The Parkgate hotel, belonging to the Welsh Rugby Union and located near the stadium, has already exhausted its rooms for that weekend, while the city center Marriott and Holiday Inn are also fully booked on December 12. As an alternative date, Friday, December 11, is also being debated. Months of uncertainty have surrounded the fight, with the venue being a contentious point of contention in negotiations.

Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, has remained resolute, insisting the bout must occur in the United Kingdom and rejecting suggestions from Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO and Zuffa Boxing co-founder, Dana White, that he has obstructed the fight. Hearn revealed that Joshua had been offered additional funds to stage the fight in the United States, but the promoter remains committed to holding it in Britain, citing the overwhelming public support for a UK venue.

Wembley has also been considered as an alternative UK site, yet Hearn stated that the final decision on the fight's location rests with Joshua.
