BYD Unveils 1,100KM Range Car Which Will Kick Off Local Assembly in Pakistan

BYD introduced the Sealion 6, a 1,100km range plug-in hybrid crossover, during PAPS 2026. This marks the first BYD vehicle to be assembled locally in Pakistan, set to be produced at their facility in Sindh.

The Sealion 6 combines a 1.5-liter petrol engine with an electric motor, generating 319 horsepower and 550 Newton-meters of torque. Its 18.3kWh battery offers up to 70km of pure-electric range according to NEDC testing, with a combined range of around 1,100km when both power sources are utilized.

Positioned as a road-focused plug-in hybrid crossover targeting the mainstream SUV market, the Sealion 6 measures 4,775mm in length, 1,890mm in width, and 1,670mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,765mm, placing it firmly in the five-seat crossover category.

The crossover features BYD’s rotating central infotainment display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless phone charging, a head-up display, NFC-based vehicle access, and ambient lighting. The front seats are electrically adjustable, and the cabin is designed around a conventional family-crossover layout.

Safety and driver assistance features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Lane-Keeping Assistance, a 360-degree camera system, and eight airbags. BYD’s Sealion 6 will be the company’s first locally manufactured vehicle in Pakistan, setting the stage for its competitive entry into the growing plug-in hybrid crossover segment.
