BREAKING: Soludo pardons jailed native doctor, Akwa Okuko, appoints him Ambassador of Youths Reformation

Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has recently granted clemency to a prominent native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu, also known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki. Nwangwu was among eight native doctors arrested last year for their involvement in promoting money rituals, quick wealth, and the use of human parts for rituals. Earlier this year, Nwangwu entered into a plea bargain with the state government, which involved serving an 11-month prison sentence at the Nigeria Correctional Facility in Amawbia, Anambra State.

As part of the plea bargain, he was required to renounce his fetish practice and work towards the reformation of youth. Nwangwu had been serving his sentence until today, when Soludo pardoned him under the prerogative of mercy, thereby appointing him as the Ambassador for Youth Reformation in Anambra. Dr Nelson Omenugha, a special adviser to the governor on Youth Reformation, revealed the pardon and the new appointment during a visit to the prison.

Omenugha emphasized that the governor's decision represents the essence of Youth Reformation, which is not solely about punishment but also about correction, restoration, a new purpose, and a new identity for Anambra.
