Bono East Minister rejects Kajaji SHS dining hall project over shoddy work

The Bono East Regional Minister, Francis Owusu Antwi, has halted construction of a dining hall for Kajaji Senior High School, raising concerns over work quality and materials used. The project, funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), was meant to give students a proper eating space, as they now dine outdoors. During a visit to the school, the minister was dissatisfied with the building's construction, noting the use of non-standard blocks and crooked beams.

He stated that the contractor's work would not be accepted and they would not sign any certificates. This rejection serves as a warning to other contractors handling government projects in the region and emphasizes the government's stance on value for money in GETFund projects. The delay in completing the dining hall leaves students without a proper facility, facing harsh weather conditions while they wait for the issue to be resolved.
