BEST Bus Hits Mankhurd Metro Station Pillar After Emergency Braking To Avoid Pedestrians, Passenger Injured

Mumbai experienced a harrowing incident on Friday morning when a BEST bus collided with a pillar at the Mankhurd Metro Station. The accident occurred around 2:15 am at the Mankhurd Station Bridge, when the driver applied emergency brakes to avoid four pedestrians who suddenly attempted to cross the road from the left side. Unfortunately, the driver's actions resulted in the bus crashing into the metro station pillar.

One passenger was injured, suffering from a left wrist and thigh fracture. He managed to contact a relative and seek treatment at the Sion Hospital. The injured passenger's identity and age remain undisclosed in the incident report.

Following the incident, the driver and conductor promptly went to the Mankhurd police station to provide their statements. According to police officials, a case would be registered once the injured passenger visits the police station for a more thorough investigation. The police allowed the damaged bus to be removed from the scene, with a BEST towing vehicle arranged by the driver. The bus reached Pratiksha Nagar Depot by 5:30 am.
