Berkshire Hathaway: Warren Buffett tritt als Verwaltungsratschef zurück

Berkshire Hathaway Chairman Warren Buffett announced his resignation from his position as a board member on Friday. The company disclosed the news, stating that Buffett had led the conglomerate for over six decades, with a market capitalization exceeding $1 trillion. In a statement, Buffett acknowledged the passage of time, writing, "Father Time always wins."

However, he expressed gratitude, noting that he was generously supported by Abel. On August 31, Buffett turned 96, and he is increasingly confident that Berkshire Hathaway has a promising future ahead. Over the past few years, Buffett has frequently hinted at his advanced age, mentioning that tasks no longer progress as swiftly as before.

Abel demonstrated significantly more energy in the previous year, emphasizing that he accomplished much more in a single day compared to Buffett during Berkshire's annual shareholders' meeting. Buffett informed CNBC last month that he underwent surgery and was hospitalized. He had already transferred the CEO position to Abel on January 1, 2026, following six decades at the helm of the conglomerate.

At that time, the board unanimously agreed that Buffett would continue to serve as chairman of the board.
