Angle Health snags $600M in equity financing to grow small-business healthcare benefits

The Deputy Minister of Health, Prof. Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah, has urged nursing and midwifery leaders to transform research findings into practical healthcare solutions to enhance community-level healthcare delivery. This call came at the opening of the 7th Annual Nursing and Midwifery Leaders and Managers Conference 2026, which ran from September 16 to 20 under the theme "Bridging Research, Policy, and Practice in Nursing and Midwifery to Advance Free Primary Healthcare in Ghana."

During her address, Prof. Ayensu-Danquah emphasized the importance of collaboration among research, policy, and practice to effectively address the health needs of communities. She highlighted the pivotal role of nurses and midwives in early health condition identification, preventive care provision, and facilitating timely referrals to prevent complications. Prof. Ayensu-Danquah advocated for increased reliance on nursing and midwifery practice evidence to inform policy decisions and bolster primary healthcare services.

She stressed that robust community-level care could alleviate the burden on specialized and tertiary health facilities. The conference also serves as a platform to recognize outstanding contributions to Ghana's healthcare sector, awarding excellence in Clinical Excellence, Education and Research, Regulation, Leadership and Governance, and an Honourable Minister for Health’s Award for contributions in underserved areas.

By fostering dialogue among healthcare professionals, the event aims to strengthen healthcare delivery across Ghana.
