Andhra woman visiting son in Melbourne killed with daughter-in-law in Porsche crash

A 67-year-old woman from Andhra Pradesh, named Rama Devi, and her 33-year-old daughter-in-law, Neha Bommali, tragically lost their lives in a car crash in Melbourne on Wednesday night. The accident occurred at an intersection in Point Cook, Victoria, when the Toyota Corolla they were traveling in collided with a Porsche Macan. Both women sustained fatal injuries at the scene.

Neha Bommali was driving the Toyota, while Rama Devi was a passenger, according to 7NEWS Australia. Rama Devi had journeyed from India to Australia, accompanied by her husband Tulsi Prasad, to spend quality time with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. The family's fundraising appeal revealed Bommali's passion for dance and their recent celebration of the birth of their daughter, Vivanvi.

Tulsi Prasad's son, Varun Chandra Gunna, expressed his grief, stating that his wife and mother died "in one devastating moment." The family aims to bring the bodies of Bommali and Rama Devi back to India for traditional Hindu cremation and funeral rites. Victoria Police have not yet attributed blame for the collision or disclosed specific details about the incident.

They are investigating the crash and request any witnesses, CCTV footage, or dashcam recordings to come forward. The Porsche driver, a 53-year-old Point Cook man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently assisting the investigation.
