Adebayo Urges Nigerian Youths to Stop Talking, Take Politics to their Polling Units

Sunday Aborisade reports from Abuja that Social Democratic Party presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, has urged Nigeria's young people to stop debating politics and instead become directly involved in the electoral process. Speaking at an event for Young Professionals for Social Change and the Confederation of West African Youths, Adebayo argued that Nigeria's economic, security and developmental problems are man-made and can be solved through competent leadership and unity of purpose.

Adebayo challenged the youths to move beyond religious, ethnic, gender or regional divisions in politics, stating that no lasting solutions can emerge from a system that deliberately excludes any section of the country. He emphasized that Nigeria has abundant human and natural resources and no natural barriers to achieving prosperity. "This country has no natural barrier, no natural limitation, no natural enemies, and we are surrounded by good neighbours who love us," he stated.

The presidential hopeful highlighted the central challenge facing Nigeria was not a lack of talented individuals but the absence of a structured system for developing leaders capable of working towards a common national objective. Drawing an analogy with the legal profession, Adebayo suggested that politics should serve as a training ground for responsible leadership. He likened political parties to universities where future leaders should be produced and prepared for public service.
