Abu Dhabi expands AI education across 170 private schools

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) is expanding its artificial intelligence (AI) education initiative across more than 170 private schools in the emirate. This comprehensive program aims to develop AI skills among students from kindergarten through Grade 12, while prioritizing their health and well-being at every stage.

The AI Education Initiative provides an integrated framework that enables students to progressively build their knowledge and skills in AI. The program focuses on developing critical and logical thinking skills through age-appropriate activities, screen-free learning experiences, and the use of AI as an assistive tool to enhance students' capabilities rather than replace independent thinking.

As students progress through the grades, they gradually move towards using AI tools and evaluating their outputs, ultimately learning how to design and manage intelligent systems responsibly. Teachers and staff in Abu Dhabi schools are expected to follow strict ethics rules, creating a supportive environment for students to learn and grow in this rapidly evolving field.
