Above-average rainfall forecast across most of Saudi Arabia in October

JEDDAH — An above-average rainfall forecast is predicted for most areas of Saudi Arabia in October, with the possibility of continued precipitation into November, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM). Speaking to reporters, NCM spokesman Hussein Al-Qahtani stated that the outlook encompasses the capital Riyadh, as well as the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, along with the provinces of Asir, Al-Baha, Jazan, Najran, Qassim, Hail, and the Eastern Province, extending to the Al-Jouf, Tabuk, and Northern Borders regions.

Al-Qahtani emphasized that the likelihood and volume of rainfall are anticipated to differ among these regions. The forecast is derived from climate indicators monitored by the NCM, with the specifics of timing, geographical distribution, and intensity of individual rain events expected to become more apparent as they draw closer.

The NCM intends to release more detailed reports in the coming days, pinpointing areas most likely to experience rainfall and providing timely updates on expected events based on the most recent climate and meteorological data. Al-Qahtani advised the public to stay informed by regularly checking the NCM’s official reports and weather advisories for the latest information.
