Ukraine Suffers More Civilian Deaths in 8 Months of 2026 Than All of 2025 – UN
The UN said August saw at least 372 civilians killed and 2,349 injured in Ukraine, with the total number of casualties in the first eight months of 2026 surpassing all those of 2025. The report attributed 47 percent of civilian casualties to drone and ballistic missile strikes, with the majority occurring in cities far from the front, including Kyiv, which suffered the highest toll.
