Ukraine downs 131 Russian missiles and drones - Air Force

In the past 24 hours, Russian attacks across Ukraine resulted in at least 10 deaths and 71 injuries, according to Ukrainian authorities. With the U.S. government supporting legislation enabling tariffs of up to 100% on countries purchasing Russian oil and gas, Russia conducted a significant overnight assault on Ukrainian cities. The majority of targets were Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa oblasts, as reported by Ukraine's Air Force.

Ukrainian forces successfully intercepted or neutralized 124 out of 157 Russian drones and 7 of the 10 low-cost Banderol cruise missiles, using both air defense systems and electronic warfare. Russian strikes were recorded in 36 locations across Ukraine, with five additional locations reporting drone debris.

Kyiv suffered the most casualties with 16 people injured, including two children, in a series of Russian drone and missile attacks overnight. In Donetsk Oblast, two fatalities and five injuries were reported following Russian strikes. Dnipropetrovsk Oblast reported five fatalities and seven injuries when a Russian drone hit a civilian bus in Nikopol.

Kherson Oblast experienced one death and 14 injuries due to Russian drone, missile, and air strikes in the city and surrounding areas. Kirovohrad Oblast saw Russian strikes in the center of Kropyvnytskyi, injuring at least four people. Sumy Oblast reported one death and 14 injuries, including two children, from a Russian air strike.

In Odesa Oblast, one death and six injuries were attributed to Russian strikes on September 16. Lastly, Zaporizhzhia Oblast recorded five injuries from Russian attacks on the city and surrounding areas.
