U.S. suspected of war crimes in Iran, govt repression rising: UN mission

The Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Iran, established in 2022, has concluded with reasonable grounds to believe the United States committed war crimes in two strikes within Iran. One strike targeted a school in the southern city of Minab on February 28, resulting in the death of approximately 150 people, including around 120 schoolchildren. Both strikes were found to be indiscriminate, causing civilian casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure, violating international law.

The UN Human Rights Council, comprising 47 member countries, is awaiting the mission's findings, which will contribute to the international evidence compiled regarding the Iran war and could potentially be used in legal cases against international courts. The Pentagon has declined to comment on the report, stating that their investigation is ongoing.

However, the White House issued a strongly-worded statement, accusing the UN of being a human rights body that has accomplished nothing while spouting unserious nonsense for decades. The spokesperson claimed that the Iranian regime is the only party in the conflict that has committed war crimes.
