Two decades of DIFI support to Arab families highlighted at Education City Talk

Doha, Qatar witnessed a significant discussion on the impact of Qatar Foundation's Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) over the past two decades at an Education City event. The session titled '20 Years of Policy Change: DIFI's Story of Global Impact' featured Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Family, H.E. Khalifa bin Issa bin Abdullah Al Kubaisi, and Executive Director of DIFI, Dr. Sharifa Al Emadi.

Moderated by Dr. Khaled Al-Naama, the talk highlighted the institute's pivotal role in integrating family issues into policy agendas, both nationally, regionally, and globally. The event showcased how DIFI's research, recommendations, and advocacy have transformed family issues from mere discussions to actionable policies addressing the evolving needs of families.

Since its inception in 2006, DIFI has been instrumental in strengthening research on Arab families, promoting evidence-based policies, and ensuring Arab perspectives are integrated into national, regional, and global family policy discussions. Dr. Al Emadi emphasized that DIFI's credibility lies in its evidence-based approach, moving beyond personal opinions to compare and contrast evidence.

The partnership between the Ministry of Social Development and Family and DIFI has been crucial in developing family-focused policies, programs, and strategies. H.E. Al Kubaisi praised DIFI's deep understanding of the local context, which has been invaluable in supporting family cohesion initiatives.
