Trump appears to review poster about Kennedy Center demolition on Air Force One

A photograph emerged on Thursday showing Donald Trump examining what appears to be a depiction of the Kennedy Centre being demolished. The image, captured by Agence France-Presse photographer Brendan Smialowski at Joint Base Andrews, depicted Trump holding a placard with the phrase "Kennedy Center DEMOLIS" visible through the window frame of Air Force One.

Smialowski, who was covering Trump's return to Washington from North Carolina, noted the unusual seating arrangement of the president. The photo gained significant attention on social media, with many US news outlets covering the story. This image was also used in a court filing by Joyce Beatty, a Democratic Ohio congresswoman and Kennedy Centre board member, who is contesting Trump's efforts to rename the venue after himself.

Trump has been vocal about his desire to rename the Kennedy Centre, threatening to tear it down after a judge ruled that he could not add his name to the building's exterior. Trump's administration plans to carry out renovations and then seek to subsidize the venue's upkeep, claiming the current building is in poor condition. The Kennedy Centre, named after President John F. Kennedy, has been undergoing a takeover by Trump, who installed himself as chairman and had signage with his name added to the building.
