SPL: ‘Ronaldo must be expelled, he’s added nothing’ – Al Nassr legend, Al-Harifi

Al-Nassr veteran Fahad Al-Harifi has criticized Cristiano Ronaldo, demanding his expulsion from the club. The sentiment came after Al-Nassr's 4-0 loss to Al-Ain in the AFC Champions League Elite on Tuesday. Al-Nassr was dominated by Al-Ain, who showed superior performance throughout the game. Rahimi scored twice, while Soufiane Rahimi and Georgios Giakoumakis added goals to secure the win.

Al-Harifi made his remarks during an appearance on the Our League is Different programme. He stated that Ronaldo has not contributed anything to the club from a competitive or commercial perspective, according to Kooora. Al-Harifi argued, "Ronaldo has not added anything to Al-Nassr. His presence is not important to the club, and he must be expelled."

The former player questioned why the management is waiting for Ronaldo, stating that he is an older player who does not provide the necessary addition, and receives huge sums of money without providing any benefit.

Al-Harifi further compared Ronaldo's situation to Karim Benzema's departure from Al-Hilal, emphasizing that no individual player should outweigh the institution. He said, "Al-Nassr supersedes Ronaldo, and we witnessed how Al-Hilal handled Benzema—they chose to part ways when they determined the player failed to deliver the necessary value, and we must adopt an identical approach with the Portuguese player."

Since joining Al-Nassr in January 2023, Ronaldo has scored 126 goals and provided 24 assists in 149 matches across all competitions, helping the club win the Saudi Pro League championship the previous season.
