Lucy Barnett, a 19-year-old all-rounder from the Isle of Man, has been named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for August 2026. The award recognizes her outstanding performance in the Women’s Continental Cup tournament, where she emerged as the leading run-scorer. Barnett's exceptional campaign included a century and two fifties, with her unbeaten 123 against Norway standing out as her most memorable innings. She also took four wickets at an economy rate of 3.80, contributing significantly both with the bat and ball.

Barnett's achievement is a testament to her remarkable form throughout the tournament. She began with an unbeaten 71 against Romania and, despite a quiet game against Greece, bounced back with a stunning 123 against Norway. Her contributions continued through the final, where she scored 59 and picked up two wickets. Across four T20Is, Barnett amassed 257 runs at an impressive average of 128.50 and a strike rate of 178.47.
