Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque introduces entry fee for visitors

To enter Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, visitors now face an entry fee. UAE Emirates ID holders will pay Dh5 ($1.35), while tourists will be charged Dh10. However, worshippers remain exempt from the fee. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, which manages the iconic site, has announced the new entry rates on its website. Tour operators charging Dh8 for visitors entering through them. Individuals aged 60 and above can enter free of charge. Official delegations' fees are determined by the relevant authorities.

In addition to the entry fee, visitors can explore the Light & Peace Museum and Diya, an immersive 360-degree experience, for Dh25 each or a combined ticket for both for Dh40. The museum showcases sensory and interactive exhibits, precious artifacts and artworks. Meanwhile, Diya takes visitors on a scientific, literary and historical journey reflecting Islamic civilisation, using sound and light to transport them through green oases, mountains, coastlines and deserts before arriving at the mosque's architectural details.

Guided cultural tours of the mosque remain free, with officials leading 30 to 45-minute sessions exploring the mosque's architecture, Islamic art and culture. These tours are offered Monday to Sunday at 11am, 1pm and 5pm, except on Fridays, when only the 11am and 5pm slots are available. Visitors can also tour the main prayer hall for Dh30, focusing on Islamic craftsmanship. Note that tours are available outside restricted prayer hours only, except on Fridays when the prayer hall is closed to tourists from midday to 3pm.
