Sheikh Khaled chairs first Abu Dhabi Executive Council meeting to use agentic AI platform

Abu Dhabi's Executive Council convened its inaugural meeting chaired by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, Crown Prince and Chairman, to harness an agentic AI platform for government decision-making. The AI Committee System facilitated analysis of proposals, generation of executive summaries, and real-time insights to guide discussions.

A critical decision was the approval of expanding Abu Dhabi Liveability Strategy into a second five-year phase, following the successful completion of over 60 major projects, valued at Dh12 billion, under the first phase, which elevated the District Completion Index from 67% to 84% over two years. The second phase will pivot towards enhancing operational quality of community facilities through predictive, data-driven planning.

Sheikh Khaled also greenlit a substantial expansion of Al Ghad Nurseries project, targeting 12,000 places by 2029, creating over 1,000 jobs for Emirati women. Furthermore, a new Abu Dhabi Programme for the Future of Reproductive Health was endorsed, aiming for an 80% IVF success rate by 2030 via precision medicine, genomics, and AI.

The council also assessed the integration of AI education in private schools, with plans to adopt AI agents in half of UAE government services within two years. UAE's commitment to AI was underscored by the appointment of Omar Al Olama as the world's first AI Minister in 2017, and the establishment of Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in 2019.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has been vocal about AI's transformative potential, stating that it will become the executive partner to enhance services, accelerate decisions, and raise efficiency.
