SBP Finally Clarifies Viral Rs. 10 Note Claims

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued a clarification to dispel rumors circulating on social media regarding the discontinuation of the Rs. 10 banknote and a deadline for its exchange. In a statement released on Thursday, SBP firmly stated that these reports are entirely unfounded and lack any merit. The central bank disclosed that it has submitted a proposal for a new series of banknotes, which is presently under review by the Federal Cabinet.

However, SBP emphasized that no decision has been made to either replace or discontinue any banknote denomination, including the Rs. 10 note. The bank added that if a decision to discontinue a banknote is indeed made, it will be officially announced through appropriate channels, granting the public adequate time to exchange any discontinued notes.

SBP strongly advised the public to rely solely on official communications from the State Bank of Pakistan concerning banknotes and currency matters, urging them to disregard any unverified information disseminated on social media platforms.
