Rs. 2 Billion Kabotar Chowk Underpass Misses Completion Deadline

The Rs. 2 billion Kabotar Chowk Underpass project in Peshawar has failed to meet the 60-day completion deadline mandated by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. This project is part of the government's Azmat-e-Rafta development initiative, which also entails constructing flyovers and underpasses along the city's Ring Road. Despite the swift advancement in construction, the underpass remains unfinished as the deadline approaches on Thursday.

Recently, authorities have cleared encroachments surrounding Kabotar Chowk and widened the adjacent service road to enhance traffic movement. Plans had envisioned the underpass opening on September 7; however, the ongoing road construction impeded the inauguration. It is anticipated that the underpass will eventually accommodate traffic on October 1, although ongoing development and finishing tasks will persist around the project site after it becomes operational for motorists.
