QF students developed new skills, discovered passions through summer experiences

Doha, Qatar witnessed Qatar Foundation (QF) students engaging in transformative summer experiences that expanded their horizons beyond the classroom. At the Qatar Music Academy, eight students participated in a rigorous programme at the renowned Reina Sofía School of Music in Spain. This intensive training bolstered their artistic and technical abilities, while exposing them to diverse musical perspectives.

Talia Chourhury particularly enjoyed gaining backstage access at the opera house, learning stage presence and refining her violin bowing techniques. Fredrick Saba found the experience both musically and personally enriching, praising the opportunity to learn from esteemed musicians and connect with peers from various backgrounds.

Sean Carey reported a marked improvement in his violin playing, crediting the intensive daily practice routine. At QF's "Mukhayamna" summer camp, several female students discovered a newfound passion for cycling. Following their exposure to the sport, they transitioned their newfound enthusiasm into structured training with the federation, turning a summer activity into a longer-term commitment.

Shaikha Nasser Alattiyah expressed her ambition to further hone her skills, compete in tournaments, and potentially represent Qatar. Afra Abdulrhman Naqadan credits her mother's encouragement for sustaining her cycling passion, while Rashid Mohammed Al Ghafri's international experience at the Bosphorus Diplomacy Forum in Istanbul bolstered his communication, leadership, critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
