[PHOTOS] Block Party Music & Art Festival survives 5th year

The Block Party Music & Art Festival returned for its fifth anniversary in central Seoul's multicultural Haebangchon neighborhood, presenting over 100 music acts and other performing artists over three days. The festival, held in partnership with Haebang Week, took over central Seoul's Haebangchon and Gyeongnidan neighborhoods.

Now that the magic and hangovers have faded, here are photos of some highlights from the festival. The event featured a diverse range of performers, from local Korean acts like Jun Bum Sun of the Yangbans and Lee Hee-moon of OBSG, to international acts such as the Italian band Little Boys and the Australian band Hard-Ons.

The festival also hosted various art installations and performances, including traditional dance troupes like Bongcheon Nori Madang and Leenalchi, and reggae bands like Komagens. Additionally, the event included a variety of genres, from ska-punk bands like SKASUCKS to reggae bands like Komagens, showcasing the diversity of Seoul's multicultural music scene.

Despite some chaotic moments, such as an audience member surging forward during a screamo performance by Palesticus and traffic passing between the crowd and the stage, the festival managed to create a vibrant and lively atmosphere. The Block Party Music & Art Festival's fifth anniversary proved to be a success, offering a platform for a wide range of artists and music lovers to come together and celebrate Seoul's vibrant cultural scene.
