Over 4.29 lakh candidates applied for 7,437 posts in Telangana's police recruitment drive. The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) closed online applications on September 16, with the preliminary written exam for Sub-Inspector (SI) Civil and equivalent posts scheduled for November 29, and Police Constable (PC) Civil and equivalent posts on December 20.

The drive, announced on July 29, covered 7,437 vacancies across multiple departments, with 298 SI/ASI-level posts and 7,139 PC-level posts. The bulk of vacancies, 5,000, were in the Police Department. On average, each candidate applied for 1.34 posts, with 68.45% submitting a single application and 28.88% applying for two. Women accounted for 25.33% of applications, while men made up 74.66%.

BC candidates comprised 49.19% of applicants, while SC and ST candidates accounted for 43.60%. Age relaxation under the State government's policy benefited nearly 1.13 lakh candidates. This recruitment marked the first use of Aadhaar face authentication. The Board noted that 97.4% of candidates completed Aadhaar face authentication, with the remaining 2.6% able to complete it by September 30.

The selection process for SI Civil and equivalent posts will consist of three stages, beginning with the preliminary written test, followed by the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test. Technical streams will begin with the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test. The SI preliminary exam is expected on November 29 at district headquarters, while the PC examination is likely on December 20 at 15-18 locations across Telangana.
