OC Japan Fair returns to California packed with all kinds of Japanese culture

Every year, a Japanese cultural extravaganza takes place in Orange County, California, and this October, the OC Japan Fair will return bigger than ever. Held from October 16 to 18, the event promises a weekend packed with nearly every aspect of Japanese life. The Japan Pop Culture Zone will take up about half of the indoor venue space, showcasing popular anime titles like Dan Da Dan and Blue Lock.

Cosplay and the Ai♡Fes Idol Festival will also feature numerous performers, including Sakura Graduation from Nagoya. The Akihabara Electric Town exhibit will recreate Tokyo's famous district, while the Asakusa & Nakamise Street Traditional Culture Area will bring the historic Asakusa district to life with performances of kabuki, raigoku, taiko drums, and traditional arts like calligraphy and flower arrangement.

Visitors can experience a Bon Odori dance, reenact an Oiran Dochu procession, and even watch a tuna dismantling show, a centuries-old demonstration of skill and precision. Over 60 varieties of Japanese cuisine, from okonomiyaki to fried pork cutlet sandwiches, and a wide range of Japanese goods will be available for purchase.
