Oburu hosts Kenya’s UK Envoy during medical trip

NAIROBI, Kenya – September 17 – ODM Party Leader and Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga is currently in the United Kingdom for a medical check-up, where he recently hosted Kenya’s High Commissioner to the UK, Maurice Makoloo. On Thursday, Oburu shared photos of himself and his wife, Mama Judy, welcoming Makoloo to their residence. The discussions between Oburu and Makoloo centered on enhancing Kenya-UK relations and supporting Kenyans residing in the diaspora.

"This morning, Mama Judy, and I were pleased to welcome Kenya’s High Commissioner to the UK, HE Maurice Makoloo, for a courtesy call at our residence in UK," Oburu stated. They explored ways Kenya could benefit from the talents and investments of its citizens living abroad. "We had a productive discussion on strengthening ties, supporting our vibrant Kenyan diaspora, and leveraging their investments and skills to drive development back home," Oburu added.

He emphasized the significance of the Kenyan diaspora, highlighting their role in the nation's prosperity through investment, expertise, and skills. "A strong diaspora is a vital pillar of our nation’s prosperity," Oburu affirmed. Makoloo expressed his gratitude for the visit and their shared commitment to ongoing collaboration.
