Ninth woman’s body found in Dawn Park as Ekurhuleni deaths raise alarm

The first murder suspect in Kempton Park, who is believed to be non-South African, is currently under investigation for his identity and nationality. Deputy National Commissioner Lieutenant-General Tebello Mosikili informed that authorities are working on verifying the suspect's background through police and prison fingerprint records.

The Department of Home Affairs has been involved to assist in this process. The suspect was arrested on July 17, two days after the first body of a 37-year-old woman was discovered naked and bound with cable ties in an open veld near the R21 in Kempton Park. This incident marked the first murder under investigation in the area. Authorities are still gathering more information about the suspect and are cooperating with the State Security Agency to gather intelligence on the individual.

So far, no connection has been established between this suspect and other unexplained deaths in the region. The investigation has expanded to include the discovery of nine women's bodies in various locations across Ekurhuleni since July, with the suspect's involvement in these cases currently under scrutiny.
