Nestlé expands Batangas chocolate milk factory

Nestlé Philippines has invested nearly P500 million to expand its chocolate milk drink manufacturing facility in Tanauan, Batangas. The expansion, recently inaugurated, will increase the plant's annual production capacity to 144 million packs of Chuckie chocolate milk drink. Nestlé Philippines' Chairman and CEO, Mauricio Alarcón, highlighted the significance of the expansion in the company's commitment to providing the Filipino population with fortified products.

Chuckie's nutritional benefits encompass calcium, vitamin D, iron, zinc, and protein, all of which contribute to the development of strong bones, cognitive abilities, and healthy growth.

Alarcón emphasized that this investment allows Nestlé to serve more of these fortified products to Filipino families, products that they trust due to their familiarity and quality. The company offers science-based, fortified food and beverage products to help consumers fulfill their daily dietary needs within a balanced diet and an active lifestyle. Last year, Nestlé provided 25 billion fortified servings in the Philippines.

The expansion will also bolster local supply chains and generate more jobs, thereby contributing to economic development in Tanauan City and its surrounding areas. According to Neil Desabelle, the manager of the Nestlé Tanauan factory, the growing demand for Chuckie necessitates continuous improvement in service delivery, upheld by the quality, safety, and reliability that people expect from Nestlé.

Beyond providing fortified products, Nestlé is also implementing initiatives to reduce material use and tackle post-consumer plastic waste, thereby addressing environmental concerns.
