Navi Mumbaicha Raja, a 56-foot idol, will be displayed in a replica of Jaipur City's Sheesh Mahal during the 56th Ganeshotsav celebrations organized by the Shivchhaya Mitra Mandal (SMM) in Navi Mumbai. The 12-day event began on September 14 and took place at the CIDCO ground near ICL School in Sector 21, Turbhe. The Sheesh Mahal replica, measuring 80 feet in length, 40 feet in width, and 40 feet in height, was designed and built by art director Amol Pashte, drawing inspiration from the Jaipur City Palace.
It features hand-painted carvings, a mirror palace, and elevations in four sections to create a grand entrance for devotees. The idol, sculpted by Nikhil Khatu, will be housed in the Sheesh Mahal inside the replica. SMM president Ankush Vaiti announced a series of religious, social, and welfare activities, including bhajans, spiritual discourses, a blood donation camp, health check-ups, annadan, Ayurvedic consultations, and felicitation of achievers.
The mandal also provides financial assistance to tribal students from Wada and Mokhada in Thane district. Anti-addiction posters with messages against various forms of addiction will be displayed to raise awareness among the eight to 10 lakh devotees who attend the celebration annually.
