Muneeba to miss Asian Games after flying home for mother's illness

KUALA LUMPUR — The National Sports Council (NSC) has bolstered its contingency plans for transportation and food services for the Malaysian athletes at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, in response to reported service disruptions, according to a statement released on Thursday. These measures empower team managers to swiftly switch to alternative transportation, such as e-hailing services, if the officially provided vehicles are delayed for over an hour, potentially disrupting the team's movement.

The use of e-hailing must be justified, economical, and fully recorded for reimbursement. Should the meal provisions from the organizers prove insufficient, the NSC has pre-arranged Ready-To-Eat (RTE) meals to supplement the athletes' dietary needs. In the event RTE meals remain inadequate, team managers are authorized to procure additional food, again subject to necessity and justified documentation with original receipts or proof of payment.

The NSC emphasized that these enhanced Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are a precautionary measure, designed to safeguard the smooth operation and well-being of the Malaysian contingent throughout the Games, without supplanting the services provided by the organizers.
