Microsoft, CPX reveal expansion of 'She Protects' initiative at GISEC 2026

Microsoft and CPX, a G42 company, have announced the expansion of the 'She Protects' initiative at GISEC Global 2026, bringing the total number of participants to 150 women. This initiative aims to equip these women with essential technical skills, professional credentials, and industry experience to pursue careers in cybersecurity, a field often dominated by men.

Hadi Anwar, CEO of CPX, emphasized that the organization is committed to changing this narrative and fostering a more inclusive cybersecurity workforce. The second cohort of 'She Protects' builds upon the success of the inaugural program which graduated 50 women in June 2026. The program includes Microsoft security certification training, threat education from CPX, immersive cyber simulations, and career-readiness support.

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, highlighted the importance of empowering women in cybersecurity to broaden the talent base, enhance national resilience, and drive innovation in the digital and AI-powered economy. CPX reported that the first cohort's graduates have already secured internships and full-time positions, demonstrating the program's effectiveness.

The upcoming intake will welcome over 150 students from UAE universities, along with recent graduates interested in technology, AI, and cyber defense, starting from November 2026 and running until the end of April 2027. CPX CEO Amr Kamel revealed that the program aims to expand its global reach beyond Emirati women, welcoming participants from diverse nationalities, cultures, and backgrounds to create a more inclusive cybersecurity community.
