Meet Chelsea’s new owners, Clearlake Capital

Chelsea have undergone a new ownership era following the acquisition of the club by American investment firm Clearlake Capital, which has gained full control from Todd Boehly and Mark Walter. Swiss businessman Hansjörg Wyss maintains a significant stake in the ownership group. Clearlake Capital is a global private investment firm founded in 2006, operating across private equity, liquid, and private credit investments.

The firm focuses on technology, industrials, and consumer businesses, aiming to partner with experienced management teams and invest in companies with growth potential. Behdad Eghbali and José E. Feliciano are Clearlake's co-founders and managing partners, while Boehly stepped down as chairman, and Wyss remains an important stakeholder.
