Loke: Negri exco members should resign if they no longer recognise Tuanku Muhriz

DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has urged Negri Sembilan executive council members to resign if they no longer acknowledge Tuanku Muhriz as the state's Yang di-Pertuan Besar. Loke argued that these members recently took their oaths of office under Tuanku Muhriz's reign. He emphasized that recognising a successor immediately goes against principles of integrity and dignity, and could be seen as disloyalty to the ruler.

Loke also noted that an exco decision cannot override the state constitution or the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang's decisions. He pointed out that some exco members had never sat in the state assembly as exco members, and should familiarise themselves with the relevant laws before making statements about the state ruler. Negri Sembilan's Menteri Besar, Idris Samuri Alims confirmed that a proclamation removing Tuanku Muhriz from his position had been approved. The proclamation was approved unanimously by all exco members.
