Logibot bags €1.4M to build a ‘temp agency for robots’

Logibot, a Belgian software platform, has secured €1.4 million in funding to develop a "temp agency for robots." The round was led by BeamBerlin, with participation from RDY Ventures, PMV, and the BAN Business Angels network. The platform aims to address staffing shortages in European warehouses by providing an intelligent layer for humanlike robots.

Logibot's solution involves selecting, training, and steering around 95% of available robot hardware, simplifying the process for companies to implement automation. The platform covers the entire process, from analyzing current workflows to continuous monitoring and remote teleoperation. Logibot's CEO and co-founder, Louis Verspreeuwen, highlights four challenges faced by logistics groups when robotizing their warehouses, such as lack of direction, avoiding single supplier lock-in, integrating with existing operations, and managing variable costs.

With seven employees, Logibot currently serves clients ranging from 8,000 to 21,000 employees, including a major logistics group in the Nordics. The funding will support the deployment of the first robots and the assembly of a second unit, with sensors being installed in Zellik, Flemish Brabant.
