Islamabad’s Daanish University Gets Opening Date

Daanish University in Islamabad is scheduled to commence its inaugural academic term on September 20, 2027, as progress continues on the institution's development. The university's campus structure is projected to be finished by the following year. Prior to the commencement of regular classes, a preparatory bridge program will be executed from August 10 to September 14, 2027.

This crucial information was unveiled during a senior-level assessment meeting led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday, aimed at evaluating the advancement of the university's establishment. Officials reported to the meeting that the selection procedure for top-notch faculty members is currently in progress, with 185 applications received thus far.

Furthermore, a nationwide search for talented students enrolled in the second year of F.Sc. and A-Levels has been initiated for Daanish University's Virtual School. Those chosen will enjoy five months of tuition-free classes. An entry exam for the Virtual School is slated for October 24, 2026, in over 40 locations nationwide. Initially, the university will provide programs in bioengineering, electrical engineering, artificial intelligence, computer science, technology, and social sciences.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the university's potential to become a regional hub of excellence in technology, driven by its academic, research, and technical infrastructure. He reiterated that delivering superior, contemporary, and merit-based education to deserving and talented youth remains a government priority.

He emphasized that the university would offer instruction of international standards, with admissions strictly based on merit and talented students selected from across Pakistan.
