I stand in solidarity with Ceuta, migrants, says Mbappe

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe expressed full solidarity with Ceuta and migrants in his own words. Ahead of Tuesday's match at Elche, players were given T-shirts displaying "Todos somos Caballas" – a nickname for the people of Ceuta. Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Ibrahima Konate removed the shirts to hide the message. Mbappe emphasized, "Before I'm a player, I'm a human being."

He added that he supports the people of Ceuta "100%" and wished to acknowledge the suffering of migrants. Over 100 people perished during a large crossing from Morocco into Ceuta in July, with thousands still residing there. "I have nothing against them, and I support them 100% in my thoughts," Mbappe stated. "I aim to send a message of positivity and peace, and I hope this situation is resolved quickly."

This incident isn't the first time Real Madrid backed Ceuta. Before their Champions League match against Inter Milan on September 8, supporters displayed Ceuta's coat of arms and applauded. This solidarity gesture highlights the varying approaches players and clubs take towards the Ceuta campaign.
