Hidalgo layak wakili Harimau Malaya

Manuel Hidalgo, a Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) player, has been approved by the Federation of Malaysian Soccer Associations (FAM) to represent the national team, according to Noor Azman Rahman, FAM's deputy secretary general. FAM received confirmation from the international football federation (Fifa) regarding Hidalgo's eligibility, who is set to be included in Malaysia's squad for the end-of-the-month Asian Cup Fifa tour in Indonesia.

However, FAM has yet to give the green light to another JDT player, Shane Lowry. Noor Azman stated that the Malaysia squad will be announced soon, possibly tomorrow. Hidalgo's addition is expected to add strength to the national squad, following the recent approval of Bergson da Silva and Brad Tapp by Fifa. Hidalgo joined JDT five years ago, starting his career with Sri Pahang in 2021 before joining JDT in 2024.

Regarding Giancarlo Gallifuoco's request to play for Kuala Lumpur City FC, Noor Azman said he needs more detailed information about the matter first. Last Friday, FAM announced that Fifa had approved Bergson, 35, and Tapp, 25, to represent Malaysia. Bergson is an attacking Brazilian who has played for JDT since 2021, while Tapp is a former Sydney-born Australian defender who joined JDT from Central Coast Mariners in July.
