Heavy rain, flash floods forecast across parts of Saudi Arabia through Tuesday

Heavy rain, accompanied by hail and flash floods, is expected to persist across various parts of Saudi Arabia through Tuesday, September 22, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM). Specific regions, such as Jazan, Asir, Makkah, Madinah, and Najran, are anticipated to experience varying levels of precipitation, ranging from moderate to heavy.

Jazan city and Farasan are forecast to encounter moderate rain, which could escalate to heavy conditions on Sunday and Monday. In Asir, areas like Abha, Khamis Mushait, and several others are predicted to face moderate to heavy rainfall. In Makkah, Taif, Maysan, Adham, and Al-Ardiyat are set to receive light to moderate rain, while Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Lith, and Al-Jumum may experience similar weather patterns from Monday to Tuesday.

Wadi Al-Fara and Al-Mahd in Madinah are also expected to witness light to moderate rain. Najran, including regions like Badr Al-Janub and Thar, will likely face light to moderate rain. The NCM warns that moderate rainfall may be accompanied by winds surpassing 50 km/h, while heavy rainfall could bring winds exceeding 60 km/h.
