Gold Rate Today, September 17: Check 18, 22 and 24 carat gold prices in Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and other cities

The gold prices in India for September 17, 2026, are as follows: 24 carat gold costs Rs 15,284 per gram, 22 carat gold costs Rs 14,010 per gram, and 18 carat gold costs Rs 11,463 per gram, according to Good Returns. Over the previous day, September 16, there has been a decrease in the prices of all three types of gold. Purity Grams Today (INR) details the prices per 10 grams at Rs 1,49,500 - 1,52,500 for 24 carat, Rs 1,41,500 - 1,44,500 for 22 carat, and Rs 1,19,500 - 1,22,500 for 18 carat gold.

Vedika Narvekar, a Research Analyst- Commodities & Currencies at Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers, noted that spot gold experienced a slight relief rally, rising around 0.5% to near $4,290 an ounce after three consecutive days of declines. She explained that this upturn is largely because bond yields have decreased after reaching their highest level since 2024 due to the Federal Reserve's rate hike.

Despite today's relief rally, Narvekar does not foresee a sustainable upward trend considering the high yields and a stronger dollar, as the price range is expected to be between $4,250-4,350 per ounce globally and Rs 1,49,500 - Rs 1,52,500 per 10 grams on the MCX exchange.
