Godrej Wealth plans mutual fund business, targets ₹1 lakh crore AUM by 2031
The wealth management arm of Godrej Industries Group is expanding its offerings, targeting affluent and HNI clients through a broader investment platform.
Godrej Wealth, the wealth management arm of the Godrej Industries Group, plans to launch a mutual fund business next year to expand its offerings and build a comprehensive wealth and investment management platform. The company is currently in the process of obtaining a mutual fund licence and anticipates entering the market within the next year, according to Godrej Capital MD and CEO Manish Shah.
Godrej Wealth already holds a portfolio management services (PMS) licence and a Category II alternative investment fund (AIF). Additionally, the firm is set to launch its first private credit fund. The proposed mutual fund division will complement Godrej Wealth's existing open-architecture wealth management platform, which offers affluent and high-net-worth individuals (HNI) access to various investment products, including mutual funds, PMS, AIFs, private credit, and bespoke portfolio solutions.
Godrej Wealth formally inaugurated its business in Mumbai in June 2026 and recently opened its operations in Delhi. The company aims to expand its presence across six more cities in the near future, including Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru in the current quarter and Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata in the following quarter. With ambitious goals, Godrej Wealth has set a target of reaching Rs 3,000 crore in assets under management (AUM) by the end of the current financial year and aims to achieve a target of Rs 1 lakh crore across its wealth and asset management businesses by the year 2031.
The company is focusing on the high-net-worth individual (HNI) and ultra-high-net-worth individual (UHNI) segments, driven by factors such as rising entrepreneurship, increased participation in financial markets, and intergenerational wealth transfer in the country.
