Notre Dame University in the United States has begun accepting applications for the 2027 academic year. The Richard and Peggy Notebaert Premier Fellowship offers full tuition coverage and an annual stipend ranging from $46,000 to $48,000, based on the chosen academic program. This generous award also includes the entire premium for the university's student health insurance plan.

Admission consideration is granted to students who apply for graduate admission, with academic departments nominating candidates and the university selecting recipients through a competitive process. The fellowship guarantees five years of support as long as the fellow maintains satisfactory progress toward their degree, and they receive priority access to grant funds for professional activities such as conferences, presentations, research trips, and other opportunities.

International students are eligible to apply for both admission and the fellowship. Prospective candidates must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent and an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.0, with some departments setting additional requirements for their PhD programs. Applicants must fulfill the university's general requirements, including submitting academic transcripts, a statement of intent, a CV or résumé, three recommendation letters, English proficiency test scores (if necessary), and any department-specific documents.

The application deadline varies by program, with the fall deadline being December 1 for most fields and December 31 for Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.
