From safari to zombies: Everland's day-to-night adventure

Everland, South Korea's premier theme park, undergoes a dramatic transformation from day to night. During daylight hours, visitors embark on a leisurely safari through the savannah to observe wildlife. However, as the sun sets, the park undergoes a chilling metamorphosis into an apocalyptic battleground, where survival becomes the ultimate goal.

This autumn, Everland's daytime walking safari experience is replaced by a heart-pounding horror adventure known as Blood City Zero: Hell Gate. Operated by the Samsung C&T Resort Group, this seasonal spectacle offers a uniquely immersive experience that lasts for 72 days, concluding on November 22nd. Unlike conventional theme park attractions, Blood City Zero embraces a live-action approach, plunging guests directly into the midst of a living nightmare.

To bring this horror zone to life, Everland collaborated with renowned film director Lee Seok-hoon, who has helmed box-office hits such as The Pirates (2014) and Confidential Assignment 2: International (2022). By leveraging Lee's expertise in visual storytelling and cinematic staging, the park has successfully translated the intensity and impact of a blockbuster film into an exhilarating theme park event.

As the day draws to a close at 4 p.m., the boundaries between actors and audience seamlessly blur. The entire area becomes a stage where visitors find themselves caught in a zombie outbreak. Rather than being mere spectators, guests must navigate through the chaos, making split-second decisions to survive the onslaught of the undead. The immersive nature of Blood City Zero ensures that every visitor becomes an active participant in the unfolding horror, heightening the thrill and adrenaline rush of the experience.
