The median one-way fare into Kolkata for October 16, when Durga Puja begins, is Rs 14,117. The same routes cost Rs 8,259 for a departure next week. Kolkata is the only one of eight big metros where mid-October fares are running above mid-November fares. The increase applies only to flights coming into the city. Seats going out of Kolkata on the same day are priced normally.
