Festival El Mundo brings 13 nations together through food in Bogotá

Bogotá is set to host a gastronomic and cultural festival, El Mundo en el Corazón de Bogotá, on September 19 and 20 at Parque El Country. The free event, organized by the Association of Diplomatic Spouses Accredited in Colombia and the District’s Sabor Bogotá 2026 agenda, unites 13 nations and the UN Mission in Colombia. It aims to connect Bogotá’s international diplomatic community with locals, visitors, entrepreneurs, and cultural organizations through food, a universal cultural expression.

Bogotá boasts over 4.6 million visitors last year, with 65% of international visitors citing the city’s food culture as a reason for their visit. Over 40% of Colombian visitors come for a different gastronomic experience from various countries. The festival will showcase dishes from Latin America and beyond, fostering cultural exchange and supporting local businesses and start-ups.

Following the earthquake disaster in Colombia, six businesses and entrepreneurial initiatives from Valle del Cauca and Colombia’s Pacific region will participate, adding a Colombian dimension to the global exchange.
